catch up pics

Keegan got this swing from my aunt for his bday sadly it took us a while to get it put up for him, we finally went to lowes and got what we needed to hang it from our tree in the backyard. Keegan has always loved swinging, in cold rexburg we would go out to our complex playground and he would swing for what seemed like forever to me, always to end fussing because he didnt want to stop. Konnor loved watching so much we got him a swing too, and put it close enough we can push both boys.


This is a car we had gotten for keegan for rexburg but it was nt the easiest to lug down a flight of stairs but the best part isnt in the pic, it has a handle you put in the back so you can push them around in it. Both boys love it, surprisingly Konnor can push himself around backwards, we didnt think he could touch the ground yet but his socks told the truth.
The leapfrog toy was the hit at all the playgroups in rexburg so we finally brought it out for Konnor and Keegan was so excited it was like he was reunited with an old friend.

This little recliner is great its the perfect little kid size, one of my friends from work gave it to us her boy is to big for it. oddly enough it is a perfect match to our full size recliner. Keegan loves it and also loves to hide his toys under it.

Keegan playing peekaboo threw the play hut pop up. The other day Zane and I were thinking man Keegan is being so quiet just to see him a few minutes later dragging it out of the office for us to put up. Once Konnor saw it he got so excited he got down in the crawl position and looked at us. Like so where am i going so i can get that.

Keegan loves to lay by Konnor and its the only time he doesnt get in trouble for getting in the crib.

Whats in your bag tag

Well hmmm. I dont really have a bag I carry a diaper bag. All thats mine in it is my wallet, phone, and chapstick, oh yeah and car keys.

Its so rare I ever go anywhere without my kids or at least one of them. And anyone who knew me pre kids knows I never carried a purse or whatnot. my wallet goes in my pocket and my phone in another pocket. Sorry but i guess i can take a pic of my diaper bag full of kid stuff for yall. to be added later.

The Snow Pictures

Snow In March

So can you imagine snow in Texas in March, what is up with that. Pictures to come if it lasts till morning. All day it has been raining and real cold. Around 1130 this morning it hailed for a bit and went back to rain. Then this evening around 630 it started to snow. Now there is nearly 3 inches by the look of it. But you know me I hate the cold weather and I wont go outside. Hey thats why I moved to Texas. So Zane asked me how often it snows here, I said hum well i havent lived here the past 7 years but growing up maybe twice that I can remember it sticking. But the best part about it is its so rare that when theres any they usually cancel school so the kids can play. And heres the downfall to dish, no connection because of the weather so no tv man whats up with that, and of course its when we dont have anything dvrd to watch either.

I still cant believe it SNOW :)

Zane's it

Who said I love you first: Zane, did then I did I wanted to make sure he did before I said it.
Who is taller: Duh, Zane is his 6'2'' beats my 5'4'' any day.
Who sings better: Neither, we both suck and we are proud of it.
Who is smarter: Duh Zane. I cant even think about understanding what he does for work.
Who pays the bills: Me, he has no clue. He brings home the money thou.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed: I do now, it switched when we moved to texas, why dont know. oh yeah, when I was overly preggo my side would hurt sleeping on my left and i hate facing in the middle.
Who mows the lawn: Zane does, I dont even know how to turn on the equipment. Sad huh.
Who cooks dinner: I used to, but now I work nights so we kinda fend for ourselves.
Who drives: Me, I love him but he is a scary driver. And I'm a horrible back seat driver.
Who's more stubborn: Zane
Who eats more sweets: too close to tell, they are a weakness we both share
Who does the laundry: both do, but i fold
Who kissed who first: Zane did, only his dumb roommate kept coming threw the room.
Who asked who out first: our roommates did. Zane's brother went snowboarding with my roommate and so they found out we liked each other and they set up a movie and pool activity for the night. They had him call to see if we wanted to go and once they knew it was him they put me on to talk to set it up, we were both soooo nervous. Glad we had them pushing us thru our shyness.
Who purposed: Our moms did, they both came out for moms week just after we had said we loved each other and we were the ones, they started setting plans for the event. Zane then purposed twice. First time, we went to portland for spring break we went to pick out the ring together (im kinda picky so we went the safe route) when we went to pick it up the guy said you know its safer on the finger. so when we got to the car he turned to me and asked me to marry him, totally zane super cute. then he asked again, he still hadnt gotten permission from my dad yet, so when he came to take me home for the summer he asked him then asked me again. This time at his apartment on leaving day with it tied around a single rose, he knelt down and asked again. Sooo cute.
Who has traveled more: Zane's got me beat by far, Japan for mission, france, london, tj mexico, and about 30 of the 50 states.
Who wears the pants in the family: He says I do.
How long have we been married: 4 1/2 years
How long did we date:6 months, engaged after a month and a half

Potty Time

Keegan last night decided he wanted to go potty then wear big kid underwear. He went from4 till 730 at bath then got a diaper. This morning i asked if he wanted to go and then put on big unders he said yea. Only one accident but im taking the blame on that, but dry besides that. We are so excited and hope he keeps it up. How great of a present is that to give us on his birthday. The big 3. Little buns look so cute in big kid underwear running around. If anybody has tips on potty training especially boys please share.

Keegan is 3 today!!!

So last night i decorated the house and got the presents all out and ready for the morning. See odly enough i work tonight at 530 and zane gets home at 515 just in time for me to leave. So we had to do birthday presents this morning. I will post pics tonight after work. Well lets just say i had to wake Keegan up at 740 because he chose last night to stay up till 11 so in all the pics he is like why am i up . We got him an art eaisel and paints and markers and chalk and dry erase markers and the whole deal. and a aquadoodle pad. and Keegan says "I draw, I draw, I draw" until i finally got the markers out for him to draw. Gma and Gpa brown got him potatoe head sets, which he loves too. He is a hands on kinda kid.

Food: Asian currently, i go thru phases but the foods i will not eat are pretty much all vegetables and the weird things
Child Raising Tip: don't ever let your kids sleep in your bed they wont get out, Keegan got out just in time for Konnor to come in. I know how tempting it is cause they wont sleep anywhere else, yeah thats my problem I need my sleep or i am kinda evil the next day.
Pet Peeve: unnecessary noises, Zane says anything that doesn't follow the gospel of Ashli

Tattoo: Japanese symbol for love, one inch in size above my bum on lower back

Thanksgiving
We went to Portland to visit the Brown part of the family. We were there for a week and had a great time. The boys traveled great too. We had a laid back relaxing break we both needed. This time we stayed at his sister Heathers house it was great, when the kids were up Keegan had an instant play date with 3 kids. and I had Heather to talk to about all kinds of stuff, we both at the time had our little 5 month olds now almost 8 months. Wow time flies. While there we went to a inflatable play place. Keegan and I had a blast. I ran around with him most the whole time then the adults raced through the obstacle course. Zane beat us both due to what we call cheating, it really wasn't thou, since he is a lot taller than us he could heave and jump over things we needed to take the time to climb. But it was a lot of fun all around and wore us all out. We had a great thanksgiving turkey fiasco that we will all remember. Deep fried turkey anyone. thanks to our quick thinking sisters Emilee and Jasmin. They always do a great job with all the meals. And as a awesome surprise his brother Heath and his family, Shelly, Zach and Boston came. They said they couldn't come so that was a great surprise for us since we don't see them much anymore since we moved. Oh yeah and how could I forget we went up to see Zane's gma Brown, Konnor hadn't met her yet. More happened but these were the highlights I could still remember, sorry if i left anything out.



Christmas
Well December 7th Keegan's ECI program had a Christmas party for all of their clients. Keegan had a blast they had wagon reindeer rides, he went 5 times, cookie decorating, picture frame decorating for the picture of them and Santa, prize walk, treats, bounce house and lots of bubbles oh and cant forget Santa, his least favorite part of it all.
We now are finally able to stay home for one of the holidays since we live 30 min from the O'Brien clan we were able to do our own thing and sleep in our own beds this time it was great. Sadly Keegan still doesn't get what Christmas is but oh well. Presents are always fun. We went to the Dallas Aquarium, it was really cool I hadn't been there in forever. We also went Ice Skating, that was new and tons of fun, Keegan loved it he didn't want to leave. And of course the O'Brien tradition of Christmas Eve dinner at Pappadaux, holly yummy. it has been a tradition for over 10 years. This year my sister Calli hosted Christmas day dinner at her house, so the extended family in the area came, my moms 2 sisters and their families . So Zane got us surprise gifts this year despite the budget. He got Keegan this huge play dough set that he loves totally awesome buy hun. He got me a toaster, I know your thinking what kinda present is that Zane, but really it was great and the best thing ever; when we got married he wanted a toaster oven so i said sure, ok after 4 1/2 years of complaining that i just wanted a regular toaster he gave in and got it for me. He got Konnor a stuffed dog that does different stuff when you touch the body parts, looks cute but oh my annoying but good effort anyway hun. Oddly enough he bought his present from me I had been working a lot and hadn't had the chance to go get it, a new game Call of duty 4.
